Bangladesh not underestimating Windies | Loop News

Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo says his team will not be complacent in the Test series against the West Indies, which starts on 3 February in Chattogram.

Bangladesh swept West Indies in the preceding ODI series 3-0, but Domingo says the visitors have some excellent cricketers on their team.

“I definitely think this will be a closely-contested event. West Indies have some quality cricketers on their side. If we take them lightly, it will be at our own peril. They have some wonderful cricketers in the side,” Domingo said.

The Bangladesh coach, 46, identified three cricketers, in particular, his team needs to be wary of.

“(Kraigg) Brathwaite has been a consistent performer for them. Shannon Gabriel and Kemar Roach are world-class bowlers,” Domingo said.

He added, “We are by no means complacent. We know that they are a formidable side under any conditions. We will have to be on our A-game to compete and come out on the right side of the result against them.”

The first Test runs from 3-7 February in Chattogram.
